UAE Launches Crypto Discovery Tool With QuantumGate to Accelerate Post-Quantum Blockchain Security

The United Arab Emirates is continuing on its journey to improve cybersecurity. This time, the UAE Cyber Security Council has partnered with QuantumGate for launching the national Crypto Discovery Tool (CDT). This cybersecurity solution will allow organizations to transition towards quantum cryptography.

This means that the UAE becomes one of the world leaders in implementing such a program as large-scale post-quantum migration. Since blockchain networks, financial systems, and other critical IT infrastructures use cryptographic security, the potential emergence of quantum computers can seriously affect the security of data stored using encryption methods.

What Is the UAE Crypto Discovery Tool?

The Crypto Discovery Tool is a cybersecurity solution developed by the specialists of Abu Dhabi. The platform was created according to the requirements of the UAE National Cryptography Center and automates cryptographic discovery.

The platform allows detecting and analyzing all cryptographic elements and developing strategies for moving forward and ensuring post-quantum cryptography.

According to representatives of the UAE Cyber Security Council, this tool will help organizations of the public and private sectors in their work with cybersecurity and compliance with national regulations.

Why Quantum-Safe Security Matters for Blockchain

Post-quantum computing poses serious challenges for both cybersecurity and blockchain. The majority of modern blockchain networks uses the RSA algorithm and ECC (elliptic curve cryptography), which can be attacked by quantum computers when they become widely available.

This is why researchers and cybersecurity experts are interested in post-quantum cryptography that uses cryptographic algorithms able to resist quantum-powered attacks.

The newly launched platform aims at detecting obsolete cryptography elements and allowing organizations to develop their strategies for moving to post-quantum cryptography.

UAE Expands Its National Post-Quantum Migration Program

The newly launched platform is only a part of the UAE National Post-Quantum Migration Program. According to the project, the platform will provide information regarding cryptographic resources used by different entities and will be integrated with the UAE National Cybersecurity Index platform.

It will provide data to the UAE National PQC Index. Speaking about this news, Dr. Mohamed Al-Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said that sovereign cryptographic visibility was critical in ensuring the safety of national infrastructure against future quantum risks. The CEO of QuantumGate Dr. Najwa Aaraj said that it was impossible to defend what cannot be identified.

UAE Positions Itself as a Leader in Cybersecurity Innovations

Since launching its blockchain infrastructure, the United Arab Emirates has quickly transformed itself into a leader in cyber and blockchain-related innovations. The recently launched partnership with QuantumGate is not the only cooperation of the government with technology companies. For example, recently, ATRC signed a strategic collaboration agreement with VentureOne and TII.

According to industry analysts, the UAE is likely to establish new international standards regarding quantum-safe blockchain and government cybersecurity infrastructure. Since the development of quantum computers continues rapidly, many blockchain businesses and governments face the necessity of updating their encryption.

In this regard, the UAE’s innovative solutions are likely to be considered by many other countries in their blockchain cybersecurity programs.
